The quiz will cover the material in chapters 15 through 30.
As before, the quiz will be open book. Calculators allowed but no computers etc.
There will be a review session on Friday 11/8 at 6 p.m. in room 4-149.

This website will be used to provide information for students taking the course, including course announcements, the up-to-date lecture schedule, lecture slides and written problem sets. Please be sure to check back regularly for the latest news.
The first installment of the course reader should be available this week from copy tech. It contains the first 13 chapters of a draft version of the book “The Physics of Energy” by Jaffe and Taylor. The text is still under development and may contain errors. Please use the “contact” web page to let us know if you find any errors or have suggested improvements to the text. Extra credit will be given in proportion to the value of your input. Errata to the text will be posted on the resources web page. Please do not distribute electronic or printed versions of the preliminary course material without specific permission.
This semester, homework will have two components: an online part and a written part. Details can be found on the “problem sets” web page.
